I am not expert and really new with a docker but...
Docker has own network adapter... doesn't that mean that you can run openvpn with docker only like proxy server? - no access to rest of the network.

I actually have the same issue. Once it's up, vpn can connect but I have no access to the other machines. Probably something to do with iptables.

Use the Host Network in this case and use openvpn-iptables for routing and Nating
