You pushed a lots of work on the repository for the past 6 month, fixing a lots of bugs, such as supporting gpg2.

Is a new release planned ?

It would be good to find out how this project will continue. There has been no activity on the repository for months.

I am also interested to know, this is a great project and I hope it will not be abandoned.

I started to research alternatives. Sonatype Nexus Repository manager just took their apt plugin to official support in their latest version. As it seems that this project is dead so I'll switch to Nexus one.

I've been pretty busy with other projects lately, I can do a release definitely, but there're outstanding issues related to the way Debian packaged aptly. If we ignore these, release could be done fairly easily.

And of course, anyone willing to help maintaining this project would be more than welcome to join the team and help!

@smira can you outline the issues with debian packaging? Can we help to fix those? Would it still work on ubuntu?

@fluential Debian issue is #791, tl;dr is that they built aptly dropping vendored deps and using other Go packages as libs without correct versions which makes aptly DB incompatible with "official" builds, as they use correct versions

thanks @kasimon , this anyway would require test updates, so I thought better to move to stretch to have a better test coverage with modern distro

Right now master builds, looking into last-minute fixes and I'll get a release done

@smira Sounds great. Also keep in mind the release of buster (Debian 10) is only a few days away.

1.4.0 has been just tagged (https://github.com/aptly-dev/aptly/releases/tag/v1.4.0), once it builds & uploads we should be good to go!
