Here is John Legend's wonderful cover of Springsteen's
<strong>Dancing in the Dark</strong>. And because he is on Howard
Stern, he sounds amazing. This one brought out the lyrics to me
more than the original.

My wife introduced me to the
<strong>Tedeschi Trucks Band,</strong> a great band headed by
singer Susan Tedeschi and her husband, guitarist Derek Trucks. I
could listen for hours to any of their performances of
<strong>Midnight in Harlem</strong>.

I loved Tom Petty's album Full Moon Fever back in the old days,

wonderful to <strong>Free Fallin'</strong>. Really good.

I mentioned that every musical artist sounds great on Howard
Stern. In my more emotional moments, I like to say that this cover
of Fleetwood Mac's <strong>The Chain</strong> by
<strong>The Highwomen</strong> is the greatest recording in
history. It sounds SOOOO good.

<strong>Prince</strong> was, among many other things, an amazing
guitarist. Here he is live with just an acoustic guitar, owning
his audience with talent and charm.

<strong>Gettysburg</strong> is an 80s rocker from the
not-very-well-known <strong>The Brandos</strong>. It's a great

Here is an astounding live version of
<strong>New York State of Mind</strong> from the mid-to-late 70s,
when <strong>Billy Joel</strong> was just begining his climb to
massive popularity. <strong>Richie Cannata</strong> is the guy
with the great sax solo here.

From the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012, here's the second-best
recording of <strong> Stairway to Heaven</strong>. This
performance is in honor of <strong>Led Zepplin</strong>, and
features
<strong>Ann and Nancy Wilson, Jason Bonham</strong> taking his
father's place on drums, and a great choir.

I love this. It's <strong>Fooling Yourself</strong> by
<strong>Tommy Shaw</strong> backed up by the awesome
<strong>Contemporary Youth Orchestra</strong>. Lots of joy on the
faces of the performers and the audience. Watch the blonde girl in
the crowd get caught up while Papaw beside her is transported back
to when he saw <strong>Styx</strong> live in '78.
