ChatGPT Desktop Application on Windows 10 no longer responds when opened.

I was using my paid ChatGPT account on Windows 10, using the Desktop Version (Version 1.1.0) . Everything was working fine: Then it wasn't. It started not working today 09/17/2024 around 8:45 pm or so. The browser version seems unaffected. I checked the ChatGPT log and it seems the IP address lencx connects with , connects sucessfully. Perhaps there is something wrong with that piece of hardware (says the software guy who always blames hardware despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary).

Or perhaps this is an impetus to move everyone to the browser version of ChatGPT ( I am personally not a fan of that scenario).

I have internet, I reset my router. I rebooted my computer, I deleted my cookies from my browser (though I am not sure why that matters for the desktop app). Nothing has fixed it thus far. I attached a picture at the bottom. It is reproducible.

@lediludmilla , unfortunately I have not been able to solve the problem yet. I suspect OpenAI and Microsoft have teamed up to (somehow) neutralize the once working Windows 10/11 Desktop versions of ChatGPT. I heard the only Desktop support sanctioned by OpenAI is for Apple users.

If OpenAI and Microsoft are the culprits, it is really quite annoying when they do this type of stuff, especially when they don't tell you anything about it.

So nah, I don't have any good news.. Sorry about that...

Thank you for your response, I am confused because I have two laptops, and I have no issues with the old one, it continues to work without problems, same operating system. On the new one, which I set up 4 days ago, it worked until last night and then stopped. I haven’t done any operating system updates, so I really don’t understand where the difference lies...Let’s hope for further feedback...
