See discussion here: faster-cpython/ideas#333 (comment) (and several previous comments where I was describing the symptoms without understanding yet what was going in).

I haven't checked if it works on UNIX-ish platforms.

Possible duplicate of #107?

Last I tried 6 months ago it worked on UNIX-ish platforms.
