dispatch() is dead, daemon works

The line
dispatch($job);
in the /spatie/laravel-webhook-client/src/WebhookProcessor.php does not execute the \Job script.

No error log created. No reaction. Silence. We did php artisan queue:restart. Nothing.

But php artisan queue:work does the job as expected. The jobs are processed, databases updated, etc.
Why? How to make dispatch() work?
