Based on an instructor request, it would likely be common for variables to be repeated across modules. It'd be nice to be able to copy a set of variables and paste them into a node. I'm not sure where that option would be presented on #1147 , but perhaps a copy button would exist on each individual variable as well as one that would copy all of them. Then, hitting copy would copy the JSON configurations of the variable(s). Then, pasting that configuration (not sure where the UI of that would be) would add those variables. It may make more sense to rebrand this as Import/Export.
If pasted in / imported variables share the same name as existing variables we could either change the name of the duplicate (perhaps incrementing the number as the UI currently does) or by appending 'copy' in some fashion. Or we could ask the user how to proceed - Overwrite the old variable, ignore the new one, or rename the new one.
