Text editors

  • Notepad++ - easy-in-use editor tool, useful for changing formatting, allows for editing multiple files at the same time (Windows; there is a Linux clone named Notepadqq).
  • Gedit (Linux and more)
  • TextWrangler (MacOS)
  • GrepWin - searching and replacing in multiple files at the same time.

Regular expressions aka regex (will come in handy when you use Gephi)

Text analysis of concordances

  • AntConc - a freeware tool for easy concordancing and text analysis.
