Welcome to the Betweener wiki!

In this area you will find all the instructions needed to get started building and programming your own Betweener module. Betweener Panel This device is intended to be very flexible and DIY-friendly, relatively inexpensive, natively compact, and super fun. It was designed by a group from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for use in a class in the Sound Department there. It is designed to help you see possibilities and solve problems. If there are features you wish it had, it is likely that you can add those features yourself via hardware and software solutions.

In this repo you will find resources provided to help you get started making and hacking this device. These include:

  1. Instructional materials in the Wiki to get started if you have already purchased a kit for the hardware.
  2. Schematics and board layouts that can be modified or used as-is for production.
  3. A Bill of Materials (BOM) that can help you source all the parts needed to make one of these boards.
  4. Adobe Illustrator files that can be used as a basis for your own panel design, or directly laser cut a copy of the basic starter panel.
  5. A software library and API for easy interfacing between your code and hardware.
  6. Bite-sized examples for learning how to use the device with the library.
