The correct term should be "identità di genere", see https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identit%C3%A0_di_genere for further reference

We wish to include "gender expression" there as well, though. How would you do "gender identity and expression"?

Currently in italian we do not have very common/established words to correctly explain such concepts.
If you want to include these ideas here are some mappings between italian and english:
"identità di genere" is a 1:1 map of the term "gender identity"
"sesso" is a 1:1 map of the term "biological sex"
"ruolo di genere" is a 1:1 map of the term "gender role"
as for the expression I would map your "gender identity and expression" into "identità di genere e rappresentazione dello stesso", in this context, "e rappresentazione dello stesso" means that both your gender identity and your way of presenting/expressing it are not taken in account.

Thanks for the changes, looks cool. I think "expressão de gênero" fits a little better than "do gênero" in this case, though. What do you think, @leodasvacas ?
