Prerequisites

• Android Studio (latest version)
• A Firebase account
• Basic knowledge of Kotlin and Android development

Setup Firebase in Your Project

1. Create a Firebase Project:

   • Go to the Firebase Console.
   • Click on Add Project and follow the instructions to create a new project.

2. Add Your Android App to Firebase:

   • In the Firebase Console, select your project and click on Add App.
   • Choose Android and enter your app's package name.
   • Download the google-services.json file and place it in the app/ directory of your Android project.

3. Generate SHA-256 Key:

   • Open a terminal and run the following command:

     keytool -list -v -alias androiddebugkey -keystore ~/.android/debug.keystore

   • If prompted for a password, use android (default password).
   • Copy the SHA-256 key from the output.
   • In the Firebase Console, navigate to Project Settings > General. Under the Your apps section, click on Add Fingerprint and paste the SHA-256 key.

4. Enable Phone Authentication:

   • In the Firebase Console, go to Authentication > Sign-in method.
   • Enable the Phone sign-in provider.

Add Required Dependencies

1. Add Google services classpath:

   • In your project-level build.gradle file, add the following:

2. Add Firebase dependencies:

   Add the following permissions and receivers:
