  • The Board has considered the request to hire a Community Manager prior to setting strategic direction and does not support this proposed action. The current organizational structure and assumptions about the Foundation’s role in everything from software development to end-user training and documentation are based on the former realities of Islandora 6 and 7, and moving in the current direction appears to be leading us away from our primary goals (stable software and a healthy developer/user community). Several years of 60-120 minutes of meeting time per month have also proven ineffective at resolving these mounting issues. The Board believes that it is time to pull together the Leadership Group (and a few special guests) for a facilitated, hopefully in-person summit in the next few months to set a strategic path for the next 3-5 years.
• Islandora Open Meeting / Events planning
  • ahead of Jan Open Meeting, decide on language for call to organize a camp, form an IslandoraCon steering committee and solicit interest in hosting IslandoraCon in 2025.
  • ahead of Feb Open Meeting, decide on focus for training/workshop/other info on views
