Wing Helmet
The Wing Helmet is a useful helmet which lets you fall slower.
The helmet has no armor.
When on head you get Slow Falling effect while not on the ground.
Sometimes the Wing Helmet is afraid of monsters and flies away. After every hit by a living entity for every of the following 40 ticks (2 seconds) there is a chance of 1% to get Levitation III effect for 10 seconds. In average for every hit there is a chance of 33.1% to get the Levitation III effect. Since version 1.5.0 the effect can be enabled/disabled with the wingHelmetLevitationEnabled config.
To craft the Wing Helmet you need two Feathers and three Phantom Membranes.
Collecting a Feather or a Phantom Membrane unlocks the recipe in vanilla recipe book.
Before 1.6.0
The helmet has a durability of 600 (configurable since 1.7.0) but it gets no damage when player is attacked.
The Wing Helmet gets damage when the player is not on the ground. At every tick when in the air there is a 5% chance to loose one durability point. So in average it looses every second one durability point. Since 5.1.1.0 the durability calculation is not chance based and it looses one durability point each second. When Slow Falling was activated by a potion the hat looses no durability.
Since version 1.5.0 damaging can be enabled/disabled with the wingHelmetDamageEnabled config.
The helmet can be repaired with feathers using an anvil.
